Our Goal

Improving and Protecting the Cemetery

Holy Cross Cemetery is the final resting place for many of Menlo Park’s early visionaries, families, and community members whose lives helped shape the character of this city. Over time, the existing fence surrounding the cemetery has aged and no longer reflects the care and dignity this historic space deserves. By replacing it with a thoughtfully designed wrought iron boundary, we aim to both protect the grounds and restore a sense of beauty and permanence to the site. This project will help ensure that Holy Cross Menlo Park remains a well cared for and respected place of remembrance for generations to come.

Highlighting the City’s West Entrance

For many years, the area surrounding Holy Cross Menlo Park marked an important entrance into the city. As our home has grown and changed, this western gateway gradually faded from prominence and is often overlooked today. Renovating the cemetery fence presents a meaningful opportunity to restore beauty and recognition to this part of the city. A carefully crafted iron fence will not only enhance the landscape but also help reestablish this location as a historic and welcoming entrance to Menlo Park, reconnecting the present community with an important part of its past.

Above all, this project is about honoring the people who rest within Holy Cross Cemetery. Every headstone represents a life lived, a family remembered, and a story that is part of the history of Menlo Park. By restoring the boundary of the cemetery with care and craftsmanship, we hope to create a space that reflects the respect and gratitude owed to those who came before us. This effort is a way of preserving their memory while ensuring that the cemetery remains a place of dignity, reflection, and quiet respect for families and visitors alike.
